More Information & Schedule
When a medical or fire emergency strikes, help is only a call away. However, for those who live alone or may have mobility issues, what happens when they can’t get to the door to let the fire department personnel in? Unfortunately, we have to make entry by breaking a window or breaching the door, which is costly to the owner that we are trying to assist. To help alleviate unnecessary damage, the Spring Lake Fire Department is promoting the use of the Residential Knox Box. This box is mounted to the house and contains a key to the residence. Only our Spring Lake Fire Department has the highly secure master key to the Knox Boxes for Spring Lake residents.
You can order online or call Township Hall (616.842.1340) for ordering information. Be sure to order the box for the Spring Lake Fire Department and order a 1650 series box. After you receive the box, notify the Fire Department (616.844.0491), who will send a representative to help you choose an agreed-upon location for your box. After installation, a key will be locked inside. Call 616.844-0491 for more information.
Emergency Notification Form
For us to gain access into your residence during an emergency, please fill out the Residential & Business Emergency Form and submit it to the address on the form.
Annual Reportsburn permit is required. Leaves may not be burned, and burning is not allowed within 1400 feet of Ferrysburg or the Village of Spring Lake. The Fire Department must be called (616) 844-0491 on the day of the allowed burn, before beginning. Please see permit application for the appropriate burn days and more information.
Reflective Address SignsFor safety, your address should be clearly visible from the street. If your building cannot easily be viewed from the public roadway, an address sign needs to be placed near the roadway for identification purposes. The new State of Michigan fire code requires address numbers at least 4 inches high. The Township offers reflective green address signs for $10 that meet this requirement: Reflective Sign Order Form.
